What Happens Behind the Scenes Before Your Wedding Morning

Before the music starts, before you step into your dress, before anyone sees you walk down the aisle… so much has already happened.
As a bridal hair and makeup artist, the wedding morning is only a small part of what I do.
Because long before your wedding day arrives, I’ve already been quietly working behind the scenes to ensure everything feels calm, seamless and completely you.
From our very first conversation, my focus is on understanding how you want to feel. Not just how you want to look. Many of my brides come to me wanting to feel like the most beautiful version of themselves, without feeling “too much”… and that’s exactly what we create together.
The Quiet Preparation Before The Wedding
As your wedding approaches, there is a lot happening quietly behind the scenes.
I'll work closely with you to plan the timeline for your morning so everything flows calmly and never feels rushed. I also guide you on preparing your hair and skin so everything is in the best condition for your wedding day. Little things make a huge difference. Hydrated skin, freshly prepared hair and a well-planned schedule all help create that effortless feeling on the morning. It might seem like small details, but they all play a role in creating a smooth and relaxed experience.
The Morning Itself
When the wedding morning arrives, the energy is always so special. Sometimes the room is filled with excitement and music. Other times it’s quiet and emotional.
I’ve had mornings where brides and their mums share a quiet moment together while hair and makeup is being done. I’ve seen brides laugh with their bridesmaids over champagne and pastries. Occasionally there are happy tears when the dress goes on.
One bride once told me afterwards that the moment she felt the most calm on the entire day was when she was sitting in the chair having her hair and makeup done.
That time in the morning is often the only moment where everything slows down for a little while.
The Final Moments Before You Walk Down The Aisle
One of the most special parts of my role is being there for the finishing touches. There’s always a shift in the room once everything comes together. The hair is complete. The makeup is finished. The dress is on. You can see it in the way a bride holds herself differently.
That moment when she sees herself fully ready for the first time is something I never take for granted. One bride once said to me before she left the room,"Thank you for making me still feel like me."
For me, that means everything.
More Than Just Hair and Makeup
Being part of a wedding morning is something incredibly personal.
From the first message to the moment you walk down the aisle, my aim is always the same..To create a calm, supportive experience where you feel looked after every step of the way. Because when you feel relaxed, confident and truly yourself, it shows in every photograph and every memory you take with you from the day. Being trusted with that moment is something I will never take for granted.
