A Whimsical Wedding at College Farm Norfolk | Catriona’s Enchanted Day

There are some weddings that feel as though they have stepped quietly out of the pages of a storybook. Catriona’s wedding day at College Farm in Norfolk was one of those days.


From the moment I saw Catriona's inspiration at her preview, I knew this was going to be a wedding filled with a little bit of magic. Soft delicate lace, pearls, flowers woven into her hair and a bouquet that looked as though it had been gathered from a secret English garden!


A bride who looked as though she belonged in an enchanted garden



Catriona's bridal look was the perfect reflection of the day.

Her dress was beautifully understated, with a soft flowing silhouette and delicate lace detailing around the sleeves and cuffs. The overall effect was wonderfully whimsical! As though a woodland heroine had wandered into a Norfolk farmhouse wedding and somehow made it look completely effortless.



Her bouquet continued the story.

Rather than looking overly structured or perfectly symmetrical, it was abundant, loose and wonderfully wild. Soft pinks, coral, burgundy and muted lilacs tumbled amongst greenery and delicate foliage, creating the feeling of flowers picked straight from a rambling English garden. Her florist managed to encorpirate a gorgeous floral hair peice to add to Catrionas hair to finish the look as a whole.

It was romantic, but with personality and very, very Catriona.







The magic of College Farm

Tucked away in the Norfolk countryside, the venue has a sense of history and of being somewhere that has existed long before wedding days and will continue to do so long afterwards. The farmhouse dates back to the 14th century. Today the family-run venue offers couples the opportunity to make the setting their own. It doesn't feel like a wedding factory. It feels like somewhere you have discovered. That seemed particularly fitting for Catriona's day. The gardens, the countryside, the old buildings and the changing skies all became part of the story rather than simply a backdrop. Even the rain had its part to play!








A day full of heart

What made Catriona's wedding so memorable wasn't whether the weather was perfect. It wasn't about everything going exactly to plan.

Most importantly, two people who were simply completely wrapped up in the joy of getting married!

There is a temptation when planning a wedding to try to control every tiny detail. But Catriona's day was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most magical weddings are the ones where you simply embrace whatever comes your way. Rain included, perhaps that's why the day felt so wonderfully whimsical. Because it wasn't perfect in the traditional sense.

It was real, romantic, joyful and completely theirs.






Somewhere between the rain clouds, the wildflowers and those fleeting moments of golden Norfolk sunshine, Catriona's wedding day became something rather special indeed.

A little bit wild.

A little bit romantic.

A little bit enchanted.

And utterly beautiful.
